The Kia Seltos has been awarded a 5-star rating in crash tests conducted by ANCAP. The SUV scored 32.5 points for adult occupant safety and 40.91 points for child occupant safety.
The protection of the driver’s chest was adequate. The protection of the front passenger’s upper and lower legs was also adequate. Protection for all other critical body regions was found to be good.
In the full width frontal test, the car offered adequate protection to the chest of the driver and good protection to all body regions. Protection of the pelvis region was rated as poor. For the rear passenger, the protection for the chest was adequate and that for the rest of the body regions was good.
In the side impact test, protection of all critical body regions was good. In the oblique pole test, chest protection for the driver was marginal and pelvis protection was adequate. Protection for all other critical body areas was rated as good.
In the frontal offset test, protection of the neck for a 10-year-old was rated as poor. Protection of the head and neck of a 6 year old was adequate, while protection for all other critical body regions of both child dummies was good. In the side impact test, protection of all critical body areas was good.
The test car was equipped with seatbelt pretensioners, airbags, ISOFIX, and pedestrian safety systems.
