Kia Motors India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to introduce eco-friendly cars in the Indian market.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the chief minister of the state and Kookhyun Shim, MD and CEO of Kia Motors India. As part of the ‘Partnership for Future Eco Mobility’ Kia will install an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Vijayawada.
The company also donated an EV, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicle to the government. These include a Kia Niro EV that has a maximum range of 455 km on a single charge and Niro Hybrid and Niro Plug-in Hybrid models that use a parallel hybrid system featuring a 103 BHP 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine.
