You will soon be able to build your very own Ducati Panigale V4 R thanks to LEGO Technic’s latest set. The 646 brick kit will be available as of June 1.
Once completed the bike is 32 cm (12.5 inches) long, 16 cm (6 inches) tall, and 8 cm (3 inches) wide and is the first motorcycle ever available as a LEGO Technic set.
And perhaps because it was their first try, LEGO has gone overboard. Not only does the Ducati have realistic suspension and steering, it also has a gearbox.
“We have all been children fond of LEGO bricks and I think it is easy to understand that this new licensing agreement between Ducati and the LEGO Group is like a dream come true,” says Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati’s licensing director. “Our hope is that the Ducati Panigale V4 R LEGO Technic can bring together, excite and entertain children and parents, but also all the fans who ride their motorbikes every day.”
The Panigale V4 R is Ducati’s homologation special. The most powerful bike they’ve ever sold, it churns out 234 hp at 15,500 RPM. That power is generated by a 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine that was designed to compete in the WSBK championship.
The Ducati Panigale V4 R is such an elegant icon and a masterpiece of technology”, states Aurélien Rouffiange, Senior Designer of LEGO Technic. I hope that building the LEGO TECHNIC Panigale V4 R model brings you the same excitement. Not only a play experience but also a way to learn about mechanics, power and technology. The beginning of a long journey with a lot of fun and passion.”
