The Mahindra Marazzo has scored a 4-star rating for adult occupant safety and a 2-star rating for child occupant safety in Global NCAP crash tests.
According to the test report, the Marazzo offered good protection to the head and neck area of the driver and passenger. The driver’s chest was marginally protected, while the car offered adequate protection to the passenger’s chest area. Knee protection for both front occupants was found to be good.
With a 3-year old on-board, the child seat was not able to prevent excessive forward movement during the impact. As a result the head was vulnerable to injuries and fair protection was offered to the chest. Protection for the head and chest area of an 18-month old child was found to be good. The Marazzo’s bodyshell was rated as stable and it could withstand further loadings.
The test vehicle was equipped with front seat belts with pretensioners, driver and passenger airbags, seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchors and ABS.
