Mahindra has launched the XUV300 in India at prices starting from Rs. 7.90 lakh for the petrol version and Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the diesel version. It is available in four variants – W4, W6, W8 and W8 (Option Pack).
The Ssangyong Tivoli-based SUV measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width and 1,627 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm and comes equipped with a 42-litre fuel tank.
The XUV300 features a rectangular grille with chrome inserts, which is flanked by wraparound headlamps that have integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper houses a hexagonal air dam and a silver skid plate, while a pair of fog lamps are placed on either side. The car comes in dual-tone exterior colour schemes and has blacked-out A, B and C-pillars. It has ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators and black plastic cladding along the sides. Higher variants get roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, it has wraparound LED tail lamps and a dual-tone bumper with a silver insert.
The XUV300 comes with a dual-tone interior. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and navigation and ECOSENSE. The car gets a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel and gear knob, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and an electric sunroof. Other features include engine start/stop button, rear parking camera with dynamic assist and three park assist modes, heated ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, height adjustable driver seat and front seat belts as well as an adjustable boot floor.
The XUV300 is available with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit that produces 110 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 2,000-3,500 rpm, while the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine puts out 115 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,500 rpm. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The car has a smart steering system with three modes – Comfort, Sport and normal and disc brakes all round.
The XUV300 is offered with safety features such as 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, cornering brake control, front and rear parking sensors, ESP with dynamic steering torque, roll-over mitigation, traction control, hill start assist, ISOFIX child safety seat anchors and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The XUV300 is available in 6 monotone colours & 2 dual-tone colour options – Red Rage, Aqua Marine, Sunburst Orange, Pearl White, Napoli Black, D-Sat Silver, Dual Tone White roof on Red Rage and Aqua Marine (only on W8 optional pack).
