Mahindra has announced that its upcoming SUV, which has been codenamed Y400, will be launched on November 19, 2018.
The new SUV is based on the SsangYong G4 Rexton. It was displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo. It features a chrome grille with vertical slats and twin-pod projector headlamps on either side. It has a dual-tone front bumper with LED DRLs. The SUV has flared wheel arches and rides on dual-tone alloy wheels.
The Y400 is expected to get dual-tone interiors with brown leather upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment system and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It is likely to get a twin-pod instrument cluster featuring a central MID.
The Y400 could be offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 184 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is likely to be paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Mercedes-Benz and an all-wheel drive system. Lower variants might get a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The Mahindra Y400 will be built at Mahindra’s production facility at Chakan, Maharashtra.
