Maruti YY8 electric SUV could be launched by early 2025 at a price tag of around Rs 13-15 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki will take the wraps off an electric SUV concept at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. Codenamed YY8, the new concept will preview the brand’s first all-electric model.
According to media reports, the Maruti YY8 is an all-electric mid-size SUV that is being co-developed with Toyota. It is said to be based on the 27PL platform derived from Toyota’s 40PL global architecture. The car will measure over 4.2 metres in length and will have a wheelbase of 2.7 metres.
The Maruti YY8 electric SUV is likely to use LFP blade cell batteries sourced from China-based BYD. The battery could come in two versions – a 48 kWh with a range of around 400 km and a 59 kWh unit offering a maximum range of 500 km.
Reports also indicate that the Maruti YY8 electric SUV could be launched by early 2025 at a price tag of around Rs 13-15 lakh.
