Our new sort-of-coworkers at Car and Driver just tested the fastest car they’ve ever lapped at the massive Virginia International Raceway: The McLaren Senna.
The Senna beat last year’s winner, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Weissach, by a whopping 2.9 seconds with a time of 2 minutes, 34.9 seconds. It was done in track mode, which is a bit less aggressive than the Senna’s race mode. It also hit 1.23 gs, tying the GT3 RS for the highest lateral acceleration. The Senna also recorded a bunch of higher speeds at different points on the 4.2-mile Grand Course’s route.
