The top-spec Savvy and Savvy Red variants will get the 1.5-litre CVT and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol AT powertrain options.
MG Motor India is gearing up to launch its fourth SUV in the Indian market. The Astor is the petrol version of the ZS EV and is scheduled to go on sale next month.
According to a media report, the Astor will be offered in eight variants – Style, Super, Smart Std, Smart, Sharp Std, Sharp, Savvy and Savvy Red.
The Astor will be available with two engine options. These include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 161 BHP and 230 Nm and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor that puts out 118 BHP and 150 Nm. The former will be available with an automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre engine will come with the option of a manual and CVT.
The report states that the Savvy and Savvy Red variants will get the 1.5-litre CVT and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol AT powertrain options. The 1.5-litre MT will be offered in all trims except the Savvy and Savvy Red variants.
The Astor will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun. Setting it apart from its rivals is its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
