Interior of the new Skoda Vision iV shown in design sketch, with concept set to morph into a production coupe-SUV in 2021
Skoda is slowly building anticipation for its upcoming all-electric Vision iV coupe-SUV, due to be unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Czech firm has released a design sketch of the concept’s interior, which roughly details the dash, front cabin and infotainment system.
The sketch of the Skoda Vision iV, which will act as a follow-up to the Vision E concept from 2017, shows that the interior will feature a floating infotainment system in the middle of the dash, a unique two-spoke steering wheel, a pair of deep bucket seats, a digital instrument binnacle and a wealth of storage compartments.

According to Skoda, two mobile phones can be connected to the concept’s infotainment system, and the dash offers support for wireless charging. Also, as the all-electric Vision iV has no need for a traditional transmission tunnel, Skoda says it offers more interior space than an equivalent fossil-fueled vehicle.
The Skoda Vision iV concept will likely play second fiddle to the firm’s new Kamiq crossover at Geneva this year due to its lack of consumer relevance. However, Skoda says the concept will eventually evolve into a production-ready, all-electric SUV by 2021.
Speaking to Auto Express at last year’s Paris Auto Show, Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier told us: “the first purpose-built EV from Skoda we will offer it in two body styles. The first will be very close to the size of the Kodiaq, and the second will be one which meets the more emotional design needs of customers.”
Despite not being sanction by Skoda itself, our exterior teaser images appear to show this more “emotional” body style. They reveal the Geneva show car will feature sharper bumpers, plus redesigned LED lights front and rear intended to emphasise a sportier look over the Vision E concept.
The door mirrors have also been replaced by a more aerodynamic side-camera-based system, while the new concept rides on 22-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Under the skin, the Vision iV concept is based on the VW Group’s new MEB platform for electric vehicles, and Skoda plans to introduce production cars on the architecture from 2020 onwards.
The brand says it is investing almost £2bn into ‘alternative drive systems’ in the next few years, and aims to offer more than 10 electrified models by the end of 2022.
