The next generation Mahindra Scorpio (Codenamed: Z101) has been caught testing near Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu.
The spy images suggest that the new Scorpio could get a lower roofline compared to the current model. The front appears to have a slatted Mahindra grille with wraparound headlamps on either side. This particular test vehicle does not seem to have a bonnet scoop. The SUV appears to have flared wheel arches and a slightly raked rear windshield.
Like the current model, the next-generation Scorpio is expected to be based on a ladder frame chassis. Reports suggest that it could be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 158 BHP. It is likely to be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, while four-wheel drive could be available as an option.
