According to Zac Hollis, Director, Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India, the next generation Rapid could go on sale in India around the second quarter of 2021.
The new Rapid (codenamed: ANB) is expected to be based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The car is expected to be longer and wider than the outgoing model.
The Indian version of the Rapid could borrow styling cues from its global counterparts. It could get a redesigned grille, new headlamps as well as tail lamp clusters. It could get an updated interior with a touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a digital instrument cluster.
Reports suggest that the new Rapid could be offered with a 1.0-litre, turbo petrol engine producing around 114 BHP and 200 Nm. It is unlikely to get a diesel engine option.
