On sale now, the 710bhp Nissan GT-R50 celebrates the golden anniversary of the GT-R nameplate and of Italdesign
The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign has been confirmed for a limited production run of 50 models, priced at €990,000 (around £883,000) each. First deliveries are expected in the middle of next year.
Nissan and Italdesign both celebrated their 50th anniversaries in 2018, and the GT-R50 was built as a joint golden anniversary gift. It was revealed mid-way through the year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, with the intention of producing a limited production run.

Unlike the prototype model, which was grey with gold accents, the production GT-R50 will be tailored towards the customer’s tastes, with a range of interior and exterior colour combinations available.
The production variant of the GT-R50 will retain the prototype’s running gear, however. So, an upgraded version of the standard Nissan GT-R’s 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 will live under the bonnet, fitted with larger turbos, larger intercoolers, new fuel injectors and uprated pistons, producing a total of 710bhp and 780Nm of torque.
The standard GT-R gearbox and differentials will also be tweaked to cope with the extra grunt, while the car’s chassis receives new Bilstein DampTronic adjustable suspension, six-pot Brembo brakes and custom, lightweight 21-inch alloy wheels.
Other modifications include a lowered roof, reshaped front splitter, LED headlights, new rear wing, new rear diffuser and a large power-bulge in the bonnet. Inside, the GT-R50 gets a carbon fibre dashboard and centre console, new seats trimmed in Alcantara and leather, and an Alcantara steering wheel.
