Nissan has launched the Kicks in India at prices starting from Rs. 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom, all India).
The Nissan Kicks measures 4,384 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,673 mm. At the front, it has LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a V-shaped chrome grille. The SUV has a floating roof design with roof rails and it rides on 17-inch, 5-spoke machined alloy wheels. At the rear, the Kicks gets boomerang shaped tail lights and a dual-tone bumper.
The Kicks gets dual-tone interiors with a soft-touch dashboard and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It has automatic climate control with rear air-conditioner vents and a 3-spoke, multi-function steering wheel. Nissan offers a smart card for keyless entry and engine start/stop button on the Kicks. The SUV also comes with a 360-degree camera and gets features like cruise control, automatic headlamps and rains sensing wipers.
The Nissan Kicks is available with two engine options – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 105 BHP @ 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit putting out 108 BHP @ 3,850 rpm and 240 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. The petrol engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engine comes with an ECO mode and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Standard safety features offered in the car include ABS with EBD and brake assist, dual front airbags (top variant gets additional seat side airbags) and rear parking sensors. Higher variants get Hill Start Assist and a rear fog lamp, while Vehicle Dynamic Control is only available in with diesel version.
The Nissan Kicks is available in 7 exterior colour options including Pearl White, Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Fire Red, Amber Orange, Deep Blue Pearl, Night Shade as well as 4 dual-tone colours of Fire Red and Onyx Black, Bronze Grey and Amber Orange, Pearl White and Onyx Black and Pearl White and Amber Orange. Nissan also offers 27 accessory categories with the Kicks. All accessories come with a 1 year / 20,000 km warranty.
The company has announced a subscription model called ‘Intelligent Choice of Ownership’. As part of this package, customers can drive home a Kicks for a monthly fee which includes insurance, maintenance and 24×7 roadside assistance. Customers will not be required to pay any down payment up front. Nissan claims that the vehicle running costs work out to Rs. 11/km.
Nissan is also offering a ‘Cost of Maintenance Package’, which covers maintenance, 24×7 road side assistance, insurance and warranty. According to the company, customers can save up to 30% on maintenance costs by opting for this package. Also, the first 10,000 customers will be offered 3-year warranty, maintenance package up to 30,000 km and 24×7 road side assistance for no extra cost. This can be extended to 5 years.
