Porsche has launched a more powerful variant of the Cayenne Coupe, to sit between the entry-level model and the Cayenne Turbo Coupe
Porsche has introduced a new, mid-range variant of its flagship performance coupe-SUV, called the Cayenne S Coupe. It features a tuned version of the standard car’s turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 engine and a wider range of standard equipment, with prices starting from £73,658.
The Porsche Cayenne S Coupe’s twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 has around 100bhp and 100Nm more than the standard model, producing a total of 434bhp and 550Nm of torque. Power is fed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels, allowing a 0–62mph time of five seconds and a top speed of 163mph.

Maximum torque is available between 1,800 and 5,500rpm and, much like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the Cayenne S Coupe’s turbochargers are mounted within the “V” of the engine, which Porsche claims improves response and reduces weight. The unique turbo setup also allows the engine to be mounted lower in the bay, which improves handling.
Standard equipment for the new S Coupe includes a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, park assist, a reversing camera, adaptive suspension, a panoramic glass roof and Porsche’s Sport Chrono package.
As an optional extra, buyers can also spec a carbon fibre roof and a range of lightweight sports packages, which lower the 0–62mph time to 4.9 seconds.
Like the base-model, the Cayenne S Coupe gets a 12-inch infotainment system, a digital gauge cluster, a centre-mounted rev counter and a pair of eight-way adjustable sports seats. In addition, the rear bench now only features two individual seats, while the roofline sits 20mm lower than the standard Cayenne.
