According to a media report, MG is likely to introduce a 7-seat version of the Hector in 2020. It could be launched around April next year, when the BS-VI emission norms are enforced in India.
The MG Hector was unveiled earlier this week. At launch, the SUV will be offered in a 5-seat configuration. It is expected to get a vertically oriented 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, heated ORVMs, power adjustable front seats, powered tailgate and 8-colour ambient lighting.
In India, the Hector is expected to be available with two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel developing 168 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. MG is also expected to offer a mild-hybrid variant featuring a petrol engine paired with a 48V lithium-ion battery. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.
