According to a media report, the all-electric version of the Mahindra XUV300 (codenamed: S210) is expected to have the performance to match that of the Hyundai Kona Electric.
Reports suggest that the XUV300 EV is likely to be powered by a 40 kWh battery and an electric motor with an output of 128 BHP. The battery is expected to have a maximum range of 300 km on a single charge and is likely to have DC fast-charging capability as well. Being a sub-4 meter car, the XUV300 EV will also benefit from tax incentives.
According to the Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra, the S210 could be offered in two variants depending on the battery capacity. Also, it is said that the battery is being developed for India by South Korea-based LG Chem.
The Kona Electric, which was launched earlier this year is powered by 39.2 kWh battery and an electric motor with an output of 134 BHP and 395 Nm. It has an ARAI certified range of 452 km on a single charge.
