According to a media report, BMW could launch an electrified version of the 1-Series hatchback with a rated power output of 395 BHP.
The report suggests that M Performance plug-in hybrid version of the hatchback could come in 2020. It is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with water injection producing 296 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. It will also have a 79 BHP electric motor and a 35 kWh battery. The total power output is expected to be 395 BHP and 500 Nm of torque. The range in electric mode is expected to be 80 – 113 km.
The report also suggests BMW could launch 25 electrified vehicles by 2023. These include 12 plug-in hybrids and 13 all-electric vehicles.
