Kia has started trial production of SP2i SUV at its Anantapur plant. During an event held earlier this week, the carmaker revealed a couple of presentation slides that suggest that the Carnival MPV could be the next vehicle it has lined up for India.
The Kia Carnival, also known as the Grand Carnival and Sedona in the international market, is a large MPV. In India, it could be offered with 7 seats, although an 8-seat and 11-seat version is also available in some markets. It measures 5,155 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.
The MPV is powered by a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 199 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. The engine could be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
