According to a media report, the upcoming Hyundai QXi compact SUV could be offered with three engine options and an optional dual-clutch transmission.
Hyundai is rumoured to offer a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 99 BHP and 172 Nm of torque and 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines that also power the Verna. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit is expected to be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the latter two are likely to get 6-speed manual gearboxes.
The Hyundai QXi is expected to borrow styling cues from the Carlino concept that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It has a similar side profile to the Creta with a shorter rear overhang. It is likely to get split headlamps and DRLs at the front and LED tail lamps. Inside, it could get a touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats and sunroof. Reports suggest that the QXi could come equipped with disc brakes on both axles.
The Hyundai QXi is expected to compete with the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
