According to a media report, Volkswagen is likely to launch the long wheelbase version of the Tiguan called the Tiguan Allspace in India. It could replace the standard wheelbase version that is currently on sale or could be introduced as an additional variant.
Measuring 4,701 mm, the Allspace is longer than the standard Tiguan by 215 mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,787 mm, which is 110 mm longer than the standard model. Therefore, the Tiguan Allspace can accommodate a third row of seats much like its stablemate, the Skoda Kodiaq.
The standard Tiguan is offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 141 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 340 Nm of torque @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG and has all-wheel drive. The Tiguan Allspace could be offered with the same engine and transmission combo.
