Seems like everything is going pretty well in Russia, because this Audi A8L combines bulletproof glass that can withstand three shots from guns larger than an AK-47.
To manage that, it also adds a lot of weight. Tipping the scales at more than 8,500 lbs, it weighs roughly the same amount as a Ford F-450.
That weight also comes as a result of extra hardware like fire-extinguishing nozzles and an armored box in the trunk that contains all of the electronics.
To make it all move in a convincing way, Audi also fit the S8’s twin-turbo V8. Making 563 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the S8, which can get to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, the A8L Security takes 6.3 seconds.
Unlike the S8, though, thanks to a set of runlet tires, the A8L Security can go 50 mph for up to 50 miles on its run-flat tires. It also has a clean air system that detects pollutants and can close the air flaps if they’re deemed dangerous.
So yep. Everything is normal and good and okay in Russia. Yep, yep, yep.
