According to a media report, Skoda is gearing up to launch the Karoq SUV in India in 2020.
The Skoda Karoq was first spotted in India in October 2017. It is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. It features a typical Skoda grille with vertical slats and a chrome frame. It has rectangular wraparound headlights with a pair of trapezoidal fog lamps placed just below the main headlamp clusters. The SUV has a dual-tone front bumper with a wide air dam. The rear end of the Karoq features wraparound tail lights and a bumper with integrated reflectors.
The Karoq could be offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit and 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesel engines paired with DSG dual-clutch automatic transmissions.
The Skoda Karoq is expected to be positioned below the Kodiaq in the Indian market. As part of its India 2.0 strategy, the carmaker is also working on a midsize SUV and notchback for India.
