Sony has unveiled an electric concept car called the Vision-S.
The Vision-S measures 4,895 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and weighs 2,350 kg.
The car gets a light bar connecting the headlights with an illuminated logo and a front bumper with air vents on both sides and an air dam with a honeycomb mesh grille. It comes with a black roof and blackened A, B, and C-pillars. At the rear, it gets slim tail lights with a light bar connecting them and a dual tone rear bumper with air vents on both sides. The car also gets a panoramic glass roof, cameras in place of ORVMs and red brake calipers and rides on 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
On the inside, the 4-seater Vision-S comes with a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, screens replacing the ORVMs, panoramic screen running the length of the dashboard and a screen on the centre console. The rear seats get individual entertainment screens which are placed behind the front seats. All four seats come with individual seat speakers.
The car is equipped with 360 Reality Audio which plays music from 360-degrees around the listener, 5G and Artificial Intelligence. The concept also gets 33 sensors for Level 2+ driver assistance systems and automated parking. There are also sensors to monitor the condition of drivers.
Powering the Vision-S concept are two electric motors – one on each axle. Each motor produces 268 BHP and Sony claims that the 0-100 km/h time is 4.8 seconds. The top speed of the car is claimed to be 240 km/h.
Sony has not announced any plans to put the Vision-S into production.
