Ford is celebrating Mustang week with a new addition to the lineup. The turbo four-cylinder coupe and convertible will be available with a new High Performance Package for 2020 adding an extra 20 hp for a total of 330 hp along with an unchanged 350 lb-ft. If you want even more stick with your go, Ford is now offering a new Handling Package too.
The new hi-po Mustang basically uses a reworked Ford Focus RS engine with a bigger turbo and a larger radiator as well as a reprogramed ECU made to work with Ford’s new ten-speed auto or the Getrag six-speed manual.
“It’s not just the horsepower gains over the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost, it’s the broader torque curve that delivers 90 percent of peak torque between 2,500 and 5,300 rpm, which is 40 percent wider than the base EcoBoost engine,” Ford reps said. “Plus, horsepower holds stronger up to the 6,500-rpm redline – enabling more usable power and torque for enthusiasts and weekend autocrossers to enjoy.”
Ford says the Mustang with High Performance Package will sprint to 60 mph in the mid-four-second range.
