Tata Motors has released a teaser of the 45X premium hatchback that is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The teaser reveals the outline of the hatchback with the Tata logo at the front and also a six letter word starting with ‘A’, which is expected to be the car’s name. Tata Motors is known to name its cars after birds. The Tigor was codenamed Kite 5, while the upcoming compact SUV is reportedly known internally as the Hornbill. Therefore, it is quite likely that the 45X could be named Aquila – which means Eagle in Italian.
The 45X will be based on Tata’s Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. Spy images suggest that it might get Harrier-inspired interiors with a floating touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke multi-function, flat-bottom steering wheel and an instrument cluster with a large digital display. The car is rumoured to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
