The Altroz iTurbo will be offered in at least two variants – XM+ and XZ+
While Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the turbo-petrol version of the Altroz in India, a product brochure has leaked that reveals the engine specs and details of the variants and features.
As per the brochure, the Altroz iTurbo will be offered in at least two variants – XM+ and XZ+. In addition to the new Harbour Blue exterior colour, the Altroz iTurbo will also be available in Downtown Red, Avenue White, High Street Gold and Midtown Grey. The top-spec XZ+ variant gets a light grey interior with perforated leatherette upholstery.
The Altroz iTurbo will be positioned above the regular Altroz. Therefore, you would expect it to be better equipped. The car comes with automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control with Xpress Cool feature, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice commands and a wearable key.
Besides these, the car also comes with an engine start / stop button, cruise control, Intelligent Real-time Assist (IRA) and Idle-Start-Stop (ISS).
Powering the new Altroz iTurbo is a 1.2-litre, turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that produces 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 140 Nm @ 1,500-5,500 rpm. As you can see, it has 28% more power and 24% more torque compared to the naturally aspirated unit. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and has two drive modes – City and Sport. Tata claims the Altroz iTurbo will do 0-100 km/h in 13 seconds.
Some of the safety features offered on the Altroz iTurbo include cornering stability control, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and antiglare IRVM.
The Tata Altroz turbo-petrol will be launched on January 13, 2021.
