The Punch shares its platform with the Tata Altroz which has been awarded a 5-star GNCAP rating.
Global NCAP is yet to announce the crash test results of the Tata Punch, but the Tata Motors website may have leaked the car’s safety rating already. According to the website, the Punch is a 5-star rated car, a claim which has since been removed from the website.
The Tata Punch is based on the Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture. It’s the same platform that underpins the 5-star rated Altroz. Therefore, we won’t be surprised if the Punch scores full marks in Global NCAP crash tests.
The Punch is equipped with a host of safety features, including dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Safety Control, ISOFIX anchor points, driver & co-driver seatbelt reminders.
While it misses out on features such as ESP and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), the car comes equipped with Brake Sway Control, which detects the tendency of instability during abrupt braking before the ABS kicks in to avoid vehicle swaying from the driving path.
