Porsche has unveiled a special trim level for the Panamera to celebrate its 10-year anniversary as the most gentlemanly car in the range. It’s a bit late, as the original was first revealed in April 2009 and Porsche will struggle to make many deliveries before the end of this year, but let’s forgive Porsche its tardy arrival at its own party.
The Panamera 10 Years Edition, or Panamera10 for short, is a trim level available on the five-door and the handsome Sport Turismo body styles. Drivetrain options are either Panamera 4 or Panamera 4 E-Hybrid.
Choose the Panamera 4 as your base and you get a 325bhp version of the Volkswagen Group’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6. In Panamera10 spec a base car will cost from £84,441. Opt for the 456bhp hybrid and you’ll pay at least £93,559. The Sport Turismo variants are £86,231 and £95,266.
Focusing on luxury spec and driving dynamics, Panamera10 cars come with normally-optional goodies including LED Matrix headlights, a suite of safety systems and Park Assist with reversing camera. The seats are heated and 14-way electrically adjustable armchairs, the doors are upgraded with soft-close mechanisms and there’s a Bose surround sound audio system. It’s mostly a black affair with silver and light gold accents, including special Panamera10 logos.
The excellent three-chamber adaptive air suspension is standard on this trim grade, linked to the wonderful Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the sadly dreadful Power Steering Plus.
Interestingly, Panamera10 versions of the E-Hybrid will come with a maximum charging capacity of 7.2kW rather than the usual 3.6kW. Recouping electro-juice in half the time? We’re on board with that. The order books are open now.
