Triumph has launched the Rocket 3 GT in India. It is priced at Rs. 18.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Rocket 3 GT is a touring variant of the Rocket 3R that was launched in December 2019. It comes with pullback handlebars and adjustable foot pegs that are positioned slightly forward. It has a larger seat that is positioned at a lower height compared to the R variant. The bike also gets a taller flyscreen, heated grips, adjustable pillion foot pegs and backrest. It rides on lightweight cast aluminium wheels shod with Avon Cobra Chrome tyres.
The 2020 Rocket 3 GT is based around an aluminium chassis, making it 40 kg lighter than its predecessor. The bike is powered by a 2,500cc, 3-cylinder engine that produces 165 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike is equipped with a 47 mm Showa upside down fork suspension at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking setup consists of dual 320 mm discs and a single 300 mm disc with 4-piston calipers at the front and rear respectively.
It has four riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider configurable. It also comes with features such a Hill Hold Control, Cruise Control, Cornering ABS, Triumph Shift Assist, integrated GoPro control system and phone and music operation, turn-by-turn navigation, My Triumph App support and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
The Rocket 3 GT is available two colour options – Phantom Black and a dual-tone shade of Silver Ice and Storm Grey with a Korosi Red pinstripe decal.
