The National Health Authority (NHA) has partnered with Uber to provide transport service to healthcare workers who are treating Covid-19 patients in India.
Through the UberMedic service, the company will provide 150 cars free of cost to support medical facilities in New Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Patna.
All drivers operating these cars will be trained in safety procedures. They will be provided with masks, sanitisers and disinfectants to sanitize the cars after each ride. Additionally, all such cars will come with roof-to-floor plastic sheeting that encloses the driver’s seat. This is claimed to act as a protective barrier between the rider and driver.
