New spy images of the Vespa 150 and Aprilia SR150 equipped with ABS have surfaced online. Both scooters are likely to get a cross-drilled disc brake at the front with single-channel ABS.
At present, the Vespa 150 is available in three variants – VXL, SXL and Elegante. It is powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 11.4 BHP and 11.5 Nm of torque. The Aprilia SR150 comes with a 154.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts out 10.25 BHP and 11.4 Nm of peak torque. Both scooters are equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Earlier this year, the Government of India made it mandatory for 2-wheelers with an engine displacement above 125cc to be equipped with ABS, while combined braking system (CBS) has been made mandatory for vehicles with engine capacities less than or equal to 125cc.
