While the mice are away, the cat will play.
Casey Putsch, founder of the Genius Garage college internship program in Bowling Green, Ohio, was hoping to be working with students this spring on the program’s latest project—turning a 2007 Porsche Boxster S into a “Fast & Furious”-inspired Lykan Hypersport.
Instead, with the program in a holding pattern due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Putsch got an early start on the project by stripping the body of the Porsche. He then took the new-look machine, minus 760 pounds of convertible roof, framing, hood, doors, seats, carpeting, fenders, bumpers and front and rear lighting out for a spin to see what it could do.
And it did a lot!
The build will be documented on Putsch’s YouTube channel with updates on automotive YouTuber Ed Bolian’s VINwiki channel. Students at the Genius Garage, coronavirus pandemic willing, will show the finished car at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in November and participate in Genius Garage racing team efforts this coming summer.
