The Carens is expected to share its underpinnings with the Seltos and could compete with the Hyundai Alcazar and other mid-size 7-seater SUVs.
The Kia Carens will be unveiled on December 16, and you will be able to watch the event live on Kia India’s official Youtube channel.
The Carens is Kia’s fourth model for the Indian market. It’s a 3-row car that is expected to compete with the Hyundai Alcazar and other mid-size 7-seater SUVs.
The Carens is expected to share its underpinnings with the Seltos. It could also get the same engine options as the 5-seater SUV. These include the 1.5-litre petrol engine that puts out 113 BHP and 144 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel producing 113 BHP and 250 Nm.
Reports suggest that the Carens could be offered in a wide range of trim options such as L, LX, EX, EX+, TX and TX+. Additionally, there could be Premium, Prestige, Prestige+, Luxury and Luxury+ trims as well.
The Carens will come equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, UVO Connect features, wireless charging, a sunroof and a digital instrument cluster.
In terms of safety features, the car is expected to get 6 airbags, ESC, hill start assist and a 360-degree camera. Reports suggest that the Carens could also get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
