Feast your eyes on Porsche Unseen, because the German manufacturer is inviting you in to take a closer look at some of its most daring and never-before-seen concept cars.
Fifteen concepts are being showcased by Porsche in its new 328-page book Porsche Unseen, in which design studies from 2005 to 2019 have been published for the first time. From the very first drawing to the finished near-production-ready concept vehicle, the book shows every last detail in Porsche’s manufacturing and design process, while a soon-coming exhibition in 2021 at the Porsche Museum is set to showcase these cars in real life.
Today, Porsche has spotlighted three of its most interesting models: the 919 Street, Vision Spyder, and Vision “Renndienst.” The 919 Street is developed on the base of the Porsche 919 Hybrid and aims to deliver a driving experience similar to an LMP1 car on the road. It features a 900 PS hybrid racing drivetrain inside its carbon fiber monocoque, which is sure to deliver something close to a Le Mans race car experience.
Next is the Vision Spyder, a topless sports car inspired by the 1954 Porsche 550-1500 RS Spyder. It features an open cockpit, radiator grilles over the mid-engine, and red graphics that denote fins that all come together to pay homage to the brands’ cars of the ’50s, but it also features modern components such as a futuristic roll bar which Porsche used as a study opportunity.
Lastly is the Porsche Vision “Renndienst.” This all-electric van is a family-friendly concept that can seat up to six people and features a central driving position. It is spacious and Porsche-focused of course, all while referencing the marque’s classic race car-servicing vans of the past.
Take a look at the unseen Porsche concepts above, and see more in the Porsche Unseen book which is available from the Porsche Museum and Amazon now.
In other news, this Porsche 911 and jet combo will cost you $11 million USD.
