Alex Peroni discharged from hospital after horror F3 crash

Alex Peroni has been discharged for hospital and will continue his recovery from a fractured vertebra back home in Australia following his shock F3 crash.

Peroni was sent flying into at catch-fence at Monza after he was launched up via a sausage kerb situated at the Parabolica section of the track.

Both he and the marshals located at the corner were given the all-clear, but further tests at the hospital showed Peroni had damaged his back.

Absolutely terrifying. Driver Alex Peroni and marshals are all reported to be ok. #ItalianGP #F3

Formula 1 journalist,  Thomas Maher, has now provided the latest update on Peroni.

‘Alex Peroni has been discharged from hospital in Italy,’ Maher said via Twitter.

‘He didn’t require surgery on his fractured vertebra and is travelling home to Tasmania. He will be in a back brace for the next 30 days. He’s out of the remainder of the #F3 season, likely including Macau.

‘He’s fully aiming to be back in 2020, provided he’s fully recovered and funding is in place. He has acknowledged that FIA safety improvements to helmets, head restraints, halo and chassis saved his life last weekend.’
