Rebranded from Toro Rosso to AlphaTauri for 2020, the team have announced that they will unveil their new challenger on the evening of Friday, February 14.
Toro Rosso made their Formula 1 debut in 2006, but the Red Bull-owned team announced that from 2020 they will be known as AlphaTauri, the Salzburg-based fashion brand introduced by Red Bull in 2016.
The team will retain both Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly for the 2020 season – Kvyat enjoyed a strong return to F1 in 2019, picking up a P3 finish in Germany.
Gasly meanwhile started out at Red Bull before he was demoted back to the junior team over the summer break, though he would quickly gain the upper hand on Kvyat and recorded a career-best P2 finish in Brazil.
The AlphaTauri launch event will take place at Red Bull’s Hangar 7 base in Salzburg in what will be the first time the facility has been used for a full F1 car launch.
Ferrari remain the only other team to have announced the launch date for their 2020 car – the Scuderia will reveal their latest challenger at Maranello on February 11.
