Americas Rallycross unveiled its 2019 ARX and ARX2 schedules on Thursday, which include six ARX Supercar events and nine ARX2 events, beginning in June and concluding in October. The ARX calendar expands for the 2019 season, including two new events in the Midwest — at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Gateway Motorsports Park — marking the championship’s first visit to the Midwest. "The season was originally expected to begin with an indoor ice race near Montreal in the dead of winter, but according to a source familiar with the scheduling process, "They just couldn't make it happen." In 2018, the series’ inaugural season featured a modest four-race calendar that included stops at Silverstone, England; Austin, Texas (twice); and Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Scott Speed was the 2018 series champion. “We are delighted to reveal our 2019 schedule, which includes a foray in to America’s heartland,” said Paul Bellamy, senior vice president of IMG Motorsports, the series promoter. “Our new multiyear partners at Mid-Ohio and Gateway Motorsports Park are great additions to our ongoing partnerships with Circuit of The Americas in Austin and the Grand Prix de TroisRivieres in Canada as we expand our presence in North America.” 2019 Americas Rallycross schedule June 8-9: Lexington, OhioJuly 13-14: Madison, Ill.Aug. 3-4: Trois-Rivieres, QuebecSept. 28: Austin, TexasOct. 5-6: Lexington, Ohio
