Daniil Kvyat has said he is “satisfied” with his current form amid rumours he could lose his seat at the end of the 2020 season.
The Russian driver, who has already been hired, promoted, demoted, fired and re-hired by Red Bull in his topsy-turvy Formula 1 career, is facing the prospect of another axing with Honda-backed Yuki Tsunoda linked with taking his seat in 2021.
Heading into the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, Kvyat has a 50 per cent strike rate when it comes to finishing in the points so far in the 2020 campaign.
However, that has returned just a total of 10 points while team-mate Pierre Gasly has amassed 45 points, 25 of which were earned after his shock win at Monza.
But, despite the lingering rumours, Kvyat is relatively happy with his form as he tries to keep hold of his seat for another season.
“In general, I have been satisfied with my performance lately, which since Spa has been on the up and up all the time,” Kvyat said.
“I’m quite happy with the way my engineers and I have developed our understanding of what we need to do to be competitive.
“Sochi was just another step in the right direction, so for the Nurburgring, we intend to keep learning and pushing hard.”

Kvyat is hoping to be in the usual midfield mix again this upcoming weekend in Germany, in what is a very competitive battle with the likes of McLaren, Racing Point, Renault and Ferrari.
He added: “In terms of how our car will perform this weekend, we saw some encouraging signs in Russia and if it continues there is always a chance to do quite well.
“Hopefully, we won’t be caught out by the conditions. Some other teams in the midfield are very competitive, but we are always somewhere in that mix.”
Gasly, meanwhile, is encouraged by the race pace showed by AlphaTauri in Russia and is hoping to showcase that once again at the Eifel Grand Prix.
“Looking ahead to Germany, we go to the Nurburgring knowing we performed well in Russia, even if the race itself on Sunday did not go as well as it could have for me,” Gasly said.
“We qualified well and got into Q3, but that can sometimes work against you, as you have to start with the worn Soft tyres you used in Q2, which forces us to stop very early and find ourselves in traffic for the second stint.
“Nevertheless, we showed good pace, especially when running in clean air and we gambled a bit with the virtual safety car, but it didn’t pay off. I had some good fights, although I think P7 might have been on the cards.”
