It's looking like another tough week for Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, who received a five-place grid penalty for a new turbo ahead of Sunday's F1 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Fastest in the first session of the weekend on Friday morning, Red Bull's Max Verstappen continued where he had left off from Mexico, but an oil leak discovered after first practice saw him stuck in the pits when second practice got underway.
Speaking to Sky Sports during the session, team boss Christian Horner revealed that the problem may have been caused during the Mexican Grand Prix and just how lucky Verstappen was to reach the flag and lift the winners’ trophy.
“The oil tower on the front of the engine has developed a crack so it started to leak oil in that last session,” said Horner. “It had to be changed so the guys have done a great job in getting the engine off the back and back on, replacing the part but hopefully no more than a half hour delay.
