Red Bull Racing's Pierre Gasly is confident of a strong showing in Bahrain to back up teammate Max Verstappen’s podium in Australia.
Judging the performance of Gasly during the Australian Grand Prix, where he finished just out of the points in 11th place, is no easy task. A mistake from the pitwall during qualifying meant he started 17th on a track where overtaking is extremely difficult.
“The overall performance during the weekend was good,” said Gasly. “A good start, looking at the practice, and also the Q1; I think the overall pace was looking promising, but for sure, what happened in qualifying really put us on the back foot and on a track like this (Albert Park), the final result was pretty poor and clearly not what we had wanted.
