Sauber F1 team rebrands as Alfa Romeo Racing

Sauber is now Alfa Romeo Racing ahead of the 2019 Formula 1 season, a change that highlights the Italian manufacturer's greater involvement with the team.

A long-term partnership between Sauber and Alfa Romeo began in 2018, and the season also saw a massive rise in performance from the Swiss team as Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson combined for 48 points and eighth place in the 2018 constructors’ standings. This was Sauber’s strongest showing since scoring 126 points in 2012.

With reference to the management infrastructure, nothing will change for Sauber, and now with 2007 world champion Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi behind the wheel, the team aims to move to the next rung of the standings.
