On Friday morning in New York City, Jimmie Johnson took the cover off his 2019 No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Johnson said goodbye to longtime sponsor Lowe's in 2018 after a 17-year relationship. It was revealed in October that Johnson would be sponsored by Ally Bank in October. The paint scheme was unveiled on Friday.
The event unfolded on ABC's "Good Morning America," and the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion was joined by a special guest for the unveil.
Johnson and Ally teamed with Make-A-Wish to surprise 10-year-old Trevin by flying him and his father, an armed services veteran, to New York for the car reveal. Together, they pulled the cover back to reveal the brand-new ride. Afterward, Trevin — who has cystic fibrosis and is a big NASCAR fan — was given tickets to the Daytona 500 to attend The Great American Race as Johnson's guest.
