Daniel Ricciardo will have a new chassis for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix with Renault opting to replace it as a precautionary measure.
The Aussie’s Renault debut last time out in Melbourne didn’t go according to plan.
Ricciardo ran wide at the start and hit a gutter that torn the front wing off his car.
His RS19 suffered additional damage that later forced Ricciardo out of the grand prix.
As a precautionary measure, Renault have given him a new chassis for Bahrain.
“I guess it was from the impact at the start,” said Ricciardo.
“They don’t know 100 per cent if it was from that – that is the assumption for now.
“But to play it safe we are changing chassis.”
