Sebastian Vettel hits back at Dr Helmut Marko's cooling suspicion

Sebastian Vettel has said he is struggling to work out when Dr Helmut Marko found the answers to Ferrari’s problems.

The Red Bull motorsport advisor claimed that cooling problems were the source of Ferrari’s woes in Melbourne, where both Vettel and Charles Leclerc remained firmly off the podium.

Marko said that Ferrari were forced to “cut back on performance” as a result, but Vettel laughed off that particular claim in the build-up to the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.

“We found some answers, but whether we have them all, we don’t know,” Vettel said.

“I don’t think our situation is too different from the other teams.

“As for Helmut, after the race in Australia he was asleep on the plane, so I’m not sure when he managed to analyse everything!

“We were losing everywhere, including on the straight, but I wouldn’t be hasty with the conclusions.”

Vettel remained cautious about a potential fightback in Bahrain, a strong track for Ferrari and himself in the past, when fielding other questions from the press.
