Triple FIA World Champion Petter Solberg and double World Rallycross champion Johan Kristoffersson will compete in the South African series finale this weekend following the late arrival of their Volkswagen Polo Supercars.
The title-winning Volkswagen Motorsport-built machines and the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Team’s equipment had been delayed leaving Europe and were then further held up in the Cape Town bay due to bad weather.
Having initially expected to receive the cars overnight on Friday, both of the team’s containers arrived to the paddock late on Friday afternoon, allowing the squad time to set up their garage ahead of the event starting on Saturday morning.
The team did however miss its scrutineering slot and the Friday afternoon shakedown, but the cars will be scrutineered on Saturday morning and the squad will be allowed to start practice at 0915.
