Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will put their usual team colours to side as they become team-mate for iRacing’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
Both Verstappen and Norris are both big e-sports racers, when they are not driving the real things of course, with latter having his own Twitch channel to stream his races on.
Verstappen and Norris have raced regularly during this particular off-season to stop the rustiness from completely setting in and the duo have been named as part of Team Redline’s squad for iRacing’s Bathurst 12 Hour event on Saturday.
McLaren simulator driver Rudy van Buren, supercars racer Shane van Gisbergen and touring driver Nicky Catsburg also form part of Team Redline’s eight-driver squad across two race entries.
“We all like sim racing,” Catsburg told Autosport.
“It’s off-season and we’ve been on the sim a lot this winter.
“[Redline boss] Atze Kerkhof has been in the epicentre of all this. With that team we have trained a lot together in the winter. And that has lead to this.
“We share a BMW Z4, just like you would in real life.
“So Max virtually gets out of the car and I get in, then I drive a couple of stints and then the rotation continues.
“I’m really looking forward to it, also because my participation in the real Bathurst 12 Hour last weekend only lasted an hour due to a problem with the oil pump.”
The iRacing Bathurst 12 Hour race will streamed right here:
