Williams are falling further and further behind after announcing they will miss a second day of testing in Barcelona.
The first sign that things were not going to schedule came when the Grove-based team cancelled a planned shakedown run prior to the first test getting underway at the Circuit de Catalunya.
The likes of Ferrari and Renault have also said they have had races against time to get their cars ready for the first on-track action, but they were all present and correct when the track got the green light come Monday morning – bar Williams.
Williams were hoping to start catching up on the second day of testing on Tuesday, but they are going to be sitting this out as well.
“It is looking more likely than not that we will now not be in a position to run on track until Wednesday at the earliest,” A statement issued by deputy team principal Claire Williams said.
“This is obviously extremely disappointing, but it is unfortunately the situation we are in. We will be getting the FW42 on-track as soon as we are able.”
A Williams car had been spotted in the pit lane at the Circuit de Catalunya, but this was confirmed to be an older model with the new livery on it.
When it rains…it pours.
