Super Chevy Week To Wicked 1969 Camaro Presented by Performance Online
It feels good to be punching the clock at the end of Day 4 of the Week to Wicked 1969 Camaro build-up, presented by Performance Online. At this point in the week, it feels like we’ve been at it forever. At the same time, it seems like the week is flying past fast. The wrenches have been spinning, but there is still a ton to be done and a pile of parts to install on this cool yellow Camaro before it’s ready to roll out of the tech center.
Just to recap our progress so far: Day 1 saw the installation of the Performance Online Stage 3 suspension goodies and brake, followed on Day 2 by the Dart LS Next 427 engine and Tremec Magnum transmission. Day 3 was dedicated to a lot of smaller, but equally important jobs, and today was similar. By quitting time, Christian Arriero, Douglas Glad, and the guys from Performance Online could cross out a lot of chores on the tech center white board. These jobs might not have been as dramatic as dropping in an engine, but they’re just as exciting because each small step goes a long way toward transforming the project into a car.
Some of those steps include finishing the Procharger installation and making more headway on the wiring. Inside the car, interior progress included the seats, the Eddie Motorsports steering wheel, and the shifter. On the outside, we added front and rear spoilers, door handles, locks, mirrors, the lower valence, headlights and running lights, trunk and hood latches, the license plate frame, and graphics. The lower radiator hose and the driveshaft are good jobs to get behind us as well.

The finish line is a day away, and the closer we get, the more compressed things will seem. The Flowmaster exhaust system has to be installed, and a million loose ends have to get buttoned up. The goal is to have the W2W 1969 Camaro outdoors and filling the fresh air with tire smoke from a burnout that’ll bring tears to our eyes.
