1910 camera captures 1950 Dodge race truck

Last weekend, I worked at the Get Yer Phil 24 Hours of Lemons race at High Plains Raceway in Colorado, and I brought my 1910 Ansco Buster Brown Folding No. 2 camera along. I tried to document many facets of the race with my 118-year-old camera, but I kept turning the lens back to the 68-year-old Dodge pickup of Grumpy Cat Racing.

With a 230-cubic-inch Chrysler flathead straight-six under the hood (sourced from an old Stapleton Airport tug after the original 217 blew up during the truck’s second race) and a four-on-the-floor manual transmission, the Grumpy Cat Dodge still turned more laps than 16 teams at the 41-entry event.
